Chieftain Fountain Pen
The Keldur workshop is based in the heart of the West of Ireland in Tuam Co. Galway. Kilaloonty is surrounded by ancient bogs which unearth rare pieces of ancient bog oak.
Owen Durkan, is a passionate wood turner – who has mastered his craft over a lifetime. He now brings you beautifully handcrafted pieces to last a lifetime.
The chieftain fountain pen is a pocket pen. Purchasers of this individual item will hold in their hand a pen of beauty that is part of Ireland itself. This pen is available in either Bog Oak or Bog Yew and each pen is supplied with an attractive presentation case.
Slow grown with a very long life span, Irish Yew has a light, warm colour which contrasts beautifully with bog oak. This wood is one of the oldest living species in Northern Europe.
Believed to be over 4000 years old, Irish Bog Oak has lain undisturbed for thousands of years. Bog Oak takes its darkened colour from the blanket of peat which surrounds it.
